Breathalyzer now detects lung cancer

Breathalyzer

Israel Scientists have brought Breathalyzers to the next level, by being able to sniff lung cancer out in your breath. Although similar test to test lung cancer already exists, but it requires pretreatment which adds extra cost and procedure.

The Israeli Breathalyzer does not need pretreatments. The scientists have carried out the test on 56 healthy volunteers and 40 people were known to have lung cancer. The Israeli Breathalyzer has a sensor that consists of nine gold nanoparticle chemiresistors, which detects the possibility of lung cancer. The results were 33 distinct biomarkers set the people with lung cancer apart from those who had healthy lungs.

The question now falls back to how early this Breathalyzer can detect lung cancer. If it can detect at the early stage, it’ll be very useful and reliable tool for making more success in lung cancer treatments.
