SK Telecom to launch Samsung SCH-W860 handset

Korean mobile phone enthusiasts can get their hands on a clamshell handset from Samsung dubbed SCH-W860. Korean network carrier, SK Telecom would be launching the Samsung flip phone reports IntoMobile.

The slim and sleek SCH-W860 looks stylish owing to the brushed aluminum exterior. Reportedly, the Samsung phone packages six different LEDs and metallic keys. The handset boasts of a 2.2-inch QVGA screen that offers 240 × 320 resolution. Apparently, it sports dual camera, 2 megapixel main camera and another one for video conferencing.

The W860 offers HSDPA support and Bluetooth capability. The mobile phone is inclusive of a media player and a microSD memory card slot. Some of the additional applications that the Samsung SCH-W860 offers include SOS function, video/music on demand, Subway maps, and e-dictionary along with GSM band support.

There is no official word on either the pricing or the availability details of the Samsung mobile phone. But looking at its specifications, it does not appear to be a high-end phone. Reportedly, the clamshell device may be offered for around $100-$150 on a contract.
