Apple tablet could be a major gaming platform

AppBuildingApple’s forthcoming tablet computer could emerge as a major gaming platform, according to reports analysing who has been invited to this Wednesday’s launch event.

Video games publications “large and small” have been invited to the event that will take place in San Francisco, and the recent lack of announcements from several major iPhone game developers is being suggested as an indication that a number of major announcements are imminent.

According to mobile analytics firm Flurry, the new tablet will also include applications that are built to fill “those in-between moments and while in transit”, such as location-based information allowing users to search for nearby restaurants. (more…)

apple-support-windows-7Apple has announced that it will be adding support for Microsoft’s [MSFT] latest OS, Windows 7 to Bootcamp by the end of the year, and will support Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate.
The update to Bootcamp is likely to come as part of a Software update To Snow Leopard, and it looks like Bootcamp will only be updated to support Windows 7 in Snow Leopard and not on Mac’s running earlier versions of Mac OS.

Seashell Eee PC 1008HA

Seashell

THE ASUS SEASHELL design initiative surrounding its new netbooks has so far yielded three devices, the 11-inch screen 1101HA, the 10-inch 1005HA that we reviewed recently and the final model, the 1008HA. These are the new designs that we’ve been told will now show up in all of Asus’s upcoming Eee PC netbooks, so it’s apparently here to stay and we’d all better start getting used to the new look. iPhone Apps Worth $2.4 Billion Per Year,But Who’s Using Them?

Ipod Touch

Less than a week ago, I picked up my Gen 1 iPod Touch, powered it on, and sighed in a manner that was composed of both disgust and failure. As dozens  of app icons appeared on my screen, I thought about how much money I have spent on programs that I initially used with frenzied passion, but quickly forgot about. Apparently, I’m not alone. (more…)

Conspiracy theories on delayed launch of iPhone in India

Apple Iphone

This is the first time in three years that I’ve gone without a shiny new (test/demo) iPhone beyond Independence day. The first one of course didn’t launch in India but I managed to get my hands on one anyway. I got to review the iPhone 3G on the 18th of August last year, but we knew well in advance, exactly on what day it would launch. This time around, although “sometime in August” was the official word from Apple and its partnering telecom operators, there’s been absolutely no sign of the new iPhone 3GS till now. (more…)

Landscape ipod

Like satellite radio, but don’t want to deal with the kludge-y “dock and play” satellite radios that clutter up your car’s dashboard? The XM SkyDock could be for you. Mac os x

In building Snow Leopard, the latest version of Mac OS X (version 10.6), Apple focused more on under-the-hood improvements to boost speed and stability than on adding new features. That contrasts with its predecessor, Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5), which added more than 300 new features when it was released two years ago. (more…)
