MeeGo: Nokia and Intel together forms “MeeGo”

meegologoThe two big companies Nokia and Intel today announced a partnership and soon are going to deliver the “MeeGo”. What is MeeGo?

Intel and Nokia both are going to merge their odds and are going to come out with MeeGo. Intel’s Mobiln and Nokia’s Maemo are combined together to create a “software platform that will support multiple hardware architectures across the broadest range of device segments, including pocket able mobile computers, netbooks, tablets, mediaphones, connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems.”

The two companies are merging their odd, half-finished, Linux-based OS’s into one crazy little package called “MeeGo”. This is going to be a wonderful product coming out from the two smart yet technical Brands.

According to the company’s press release, the new platform will begin later this year.

Google Buzz, a Big No… No…

Google-BuzzGoogle might have chosen the wrong time to release its social networking service, “Google Buzz”. The reaction from the crowd after the release of Google buzz is pretty much disappointing.

We believe that users are too busy with the world of Facebook and Twitter that they do not want to get separated from their present social networking tools. Most of the people are already saying that this new Tool will end up being treated as the In-box Folder that nobody opens.

In spite of many features that are available in Buzz, it seems like nobody has time for it. Even if the Buzz is already connected to Google’s other services, there is a general lack of interest for the tool like Google Wave.

Google has also announced that Android versions 2.0 and above will have a mobile version of the Buzz available which will use the GPS feature on smart phones to provide geo-related Buzz updates and content.

Yahoo lately said to media that they already have a similar Buzz tool. It does the same things and is called “Buzz”. They say their system has been around for over a year and since most of us did not even know that, it is pretty obvious that Yahoo! Buzz was anything but close to success.

People do not require another social networking tool as they have enough tools to interact with their family and friends. I feel Google Buzz may be liked by the people who are not into other Social Networking tools so far. Stay tuned for more updates.

“Google” The Next ISP Provider

google-wifiGoogle has always been giving its splendid services like free airport WiFi and also free WiFi network. But, now Google makes some thing bigger. It has announced the launch of its Fiber based ISP service, which offers 1GBPS speed at competitive prices to select markets.

We believe, keeping the forthcoming trend of market in mind, Google has launched this service. Because, the uses of internet for even a single bit is inn the latest trends list.

It happened for Google to talk about the GoogleNet in 2005 but nothing came around with the specified name. Expectations are pretty high regarding Google ISP as technology of fiber is to be used. Since it has been outspoken the technology used, it has called all the interested communities to apply.

1GBPS speed from Google? Well, that’s new stuff and we hope it works really well this time. Stay tuned for more updates.

Windows 8 Concept: News, Rumors, Screenshots and Downloads

windows 8Windows 7 has been a popular yet wonderful product from Microsoft but this time the company is depending on many teams to generate the final product “Windows 8“. The interview with Microsoft’s Consumer and Online Regional VP John Mangelaars also suggests that Windows 8 will be efficient compared to Windows 7.

This so called ‘efficient product’ by the VP John Mangelaars would resemble Mac OS x Snow leopard or the technology a higher end to the product.

Windows 8” will be quite different from what people are using now. The approach would be dissimilar for windows which have made Windows 7 and now it is the turn for Windows 8 to hit the market with huge amount in terms of sales.

Windows 8” is expected to be giving the Windows product a higher end approach. There has been rumor lately that Windows 8 will hit its target and market too by July 2011. Stay tuned for more updates.

Will Firefox be arriving to Google Android Next Month?

firefox-google-android

Mozilla looks likely to be unveiling its Firefox for Mobile browser on the Google Android platform soon.

Camp-firefox.de is stating that the first version of the program will be coming next month, although it will only be in beta.

Firefox for Mobile offers a number of upgraded features over the current WebKit-based browser on Android phones, such as tabbed browsing and synchronisation with your desktop browser and bookmarks.

Firefox, which is the second most popular desktop browser after Internet Explorer, is already available on Nokia’s Maemo platform. The Nokia N900 was the device that prompted Mozilla to develop its software for Maemo first and it features identically to the desktop version.

Firefox is also now in alpha release for Windows mobile, which is a very early release suggesting that the version for Android may launch before it.

The Android operating system is now the second most popular mobile operating system, and with Googles backing and all the press it’s receiving from the Google Nexus One it’s likely to continue making progress on the Symbian platform. (more…)

Opera’s Security Niche

Bust out your helmet and grab your shield. The best defense on the Web could be Opera.

This is because hackers tend to target Microsoft’s ( MSFT – news – people ) Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox. This makes sense since IE has a whopping 59% of the worldwide Web browser market, Firefox has 31% and Opera has 3%, according to Statcount.

And hackers themselves are Opera lovers. Paul Royal, a security researcher at Atlanta-based Purewire, discovered this after analyzing the “exploit kits” that hackers use to target vulnerabilities at specific browsers and operating systems.

Royal downloaded these exploit kits, audited them for security vulnerabilities and leveraged a programming error to trick malware providers into sending him information about their location, operating system and the browser they were using. He found that while 33% used Firefox, 26% used Opera. (more…)

Microsoft Gazelle Browser

Microsoft Research is developing a new browser called Microsoft’s Gazelle and they released a PDF paper last week. Microsoft claims Gazelle is more of an web operating system working as a browser and it will give you more security that any of its competitors in the market.

The high security is achieved because Gazelle handles each element in separate process. And this is the principal on which Gazelle architecture is designed. Elements mean iframes, plugins and subframes etc. Current major browsers cannot enforce any security on plugins because plugins are allowed to interact with the local operating system directly. But Gazelle will not it happen at all. Gazelle’s security origin mainly relies on three different points. (more…)
