Google Maps from Google, Video for using Google Maps

google mapsGoogle helps people around the world through Google maps. The Google maps has a biking feature now. People can reach the destination from point A to point B through different routes. The means of transport can be selected and the destination point A and point B needs to be selected and you would get directed with the route. If you are looking for a different route then the route can also be change by dragging the circle to different location.

Thus this service from Google would be very helpful and would be used specially by the tourists who would like to visit different places without having an idea about the location and routes. Just select the starting and the ending point and you would get directed with the route.

Hats off….. to Google for such a mind blowing feature which will help us in different ways. Below is the video which will guide you the process of selecting the point A and point B. Check it out.

Vacuum gloves are used to climb like Spider-Man

Spider man Vaccum pumpIn the movie Spider Man, Peter Parker finds himself able to climb up the side of buildings after being bitten by a radioactive spider.

Here comes the technical Spider Man who does climb up the wall but with the help of Vacuum Cleaners. A scientist named, Jem Stansfield got the same effect of Spider Man from two vacuum cleaners he bought at Tesco. He adapted the household appliances’ motors into giant sucker pads, and then used them to crawl up a 30ft wall.

I am really amazed with the technology and the creativity of the scientist; the household appliances are used to climb up such huge Wall. The little info on how he actually does it is gathered out of curiosity.

How Jem Stansfield does this?

1) Two 1,500 Watt Vacuum Cleaners, Stripped of their plastic casing, are fixed to a board that fits on his back.

2) The nozzles are attached to two vacuum gloves plywood pads with a rubber seal to improve grip.

3) When switched on and pressed tightly against the wall the suction is strong enough for on glove to support him. Switching off allows pads to be released individually so climb can continue.

4) Stirrups attached to the vacuum gloves with straps ensure his feet keep step with arm movements during the climb.

The Video shows how he climbs the wall and it is from the show called Bang Goes the Theory, which you can watch more of at BBC if you’re in the UK or skilled at spoofing your location. I am sure that after watching the video you would always think differently whenever you cast a look at the Vacuum Cleaner placed at a corner of your house.

Google Goggles: A Visual Technology

google-gogglesGoogle Goggles”, the name itself gives you an idea that this is something related to Visual and Google is expertise in these surprising things.

Google at the Mobile World Congress decided to get an App like this. It seems to be very technical and complicated. This technology is just a prototype and the company is going to take time to release this App in order to stay away from criticism.

Eric Schmidt himself showed off the new prototype of Google Goggles that will allow the user to take pictures of text and literally scan it into the phone. This would reduce the time to track the exact word to be searched. So all you got to do is take a picture of the thing which you would like to search and let it get scanned to get the information about it.

Also it depends on the Quality of the camera and the accuracy of the scanner, because these two play a vital role in doing the translation for you. But these are just technical things and can be sorted accordingly. Does not be annoyed about the hardware, Google will however figure out a solution for it.

This process drives me to a thought of a futuristic machine translating things for me in just a single click. I am thrilled for this App to get launched in the market. The process is a bit technical, of course. But Google has managed to create a machine translation technology to work in junction with the image recognition already on the Google Goggles software.

We think that Google is taking all the necessary steps to make this product a successful one and has not yet revealed the release date of it. So, fasten your seat belts and have a cool ride with this Video of Google Goggles.
