Many SEO folks estimated that Bing would move to a PR 5 or PR 7 on the next Google toolbar update. That update began on June 23rd, only 27 days from the last Google Pagerank update.

Just like the stock market, the street predicted wrong and Bing outperformed.

The reason that Bing received a PR 9 is because www.live.com has been 301 redirected to www.bing.com. That’s a lot of inbound links to inherit since the launch. If live.com had not been redirected to bing.com, their Pagerank would have been different and maybe to what was originally predicted by the SEO mainstream. (more…)
