Lexar announced their new “gaming” memory cards today. I”m curious what exactly makes these cards specifically for gamers? Do they drink Mountain Dew? Do they call other memory cards ‘Bro’ while giving them dead leg?
Okay… Other then labeling, I’m not sure what else makes these gamer level memory cards special. They come in 4GB and 8GB capacities, but don’t have special transfer rates or anything else that stands out.
Available as an M2 or SDHC format, the cards start at $25 and go up from there, depending on the size and format. (more…)

Patriot Memory is back with its new line of SSDs, the PS-100. Available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 256GB, these 2.5-inch drives feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a 64MB of cache memory, a MTBF of 2.5 million hours and provide read and write speeds of up to 210MB/s and 150MB/s, respectively. Not to mention, these drives also boast power consumption of 5.3W when operating, and 0.5W when in standby mode. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and availability yet.
Super Talent comes back with several CompactFlash media cards that are able to run at 450X, 533X and 600X speeds with up to 90MB/sec of read and write speeds, which is perfect for premium DSLR cameras. Available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, these cards use MLC NAND Flash as the medium which works silently and lasts longer. In addition, these media cards are also compliant with the CompactFlash 4.1 standard. Measuring 36.4mm x 42.8mm x 3.3mm, the Super Talent CompactFlash Media Cards will be available later this month from Super Talent resellers worldwide.
TG Sambo today rolled out their brand new dual-touchscreen tablet PC in the form of the Averatec PT 1400. Powered by Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, the tablet PC is currently available in a 14-inch and 7-inch touchscreen display with LED backlit. The TG Sambo Averatec PT 1400 retails for 1,700,000 Korean Won or approx. $1,463 each.
